Common questions about partnering with CRREM.
Organizations that distribute CRREM-aligned outputs to clients as part of paid engagements must do so under a License Partner agreement. In practical terms: if CRREM-aligned metrics, Pathways, or conclusions are part of what clients pay for — even if CRREM is not the primary product — a License Partner agreement is required.
Tier placement uses three objective proxies: organizational scale (staff size), commercial scale (revenue), and application scale (coverage — buildings assessed using CRREM's model). Placement is determined by the highest applicable indicator to prevent tier arbitrage. At renewal, partners provide refreshed indicators for reassessment.
License Partners integrate CRREM Pathways and logic into commercial platforms and tools. Accredited Service Providers help clients apply CRREM through advisory, technical, and assurance services. Some organizations do both — they hold Hybrid classification. If you provide CRREM-based advisory services and also embed CRREM into a commercial tool, you would typically be classified as Hybrid.
Organizations that reference CRREM but do not meet License Partner or ASP thresholds may be classified as Recognized Users. This classification is appropriate for academic institutions, industry bodies, or organizations that cite CRREM in research or internal analysis without distributing CRREM-aligned outputs commercially.
License Partners receive research use rights for commercial analyses; commercial permission for CRREM-aligned claims; product strength from a globally recognized reference basis; predictable update timelines and product support; and visibility through CRREM's partner ecosystem communications and directory, including the right to use CRREM trademarks in product promotion.
Initial response within five business days. Full classification and agreement typically completed within four to six weeks, depending on organizational complexity and partnership type. Hybrid classifications may take slightly longer due to dual framework requirements.
